Synopsis |
Included as an event in the Le French May Choreographers season, Topology showcased the depth and breadth of the School of Dance’s exceptional talent, with Sextet (六重奏) by internationally renown French choreographer Thierry Malandain a major highlight. Created on Malandain’s Ballet Biarritz, the contemporary ballet demonstrated the strength, fragility and sensuality of the dancing body, as expressed through the movement of 12 dancers from the Ballet stream. The programme also included Copacabana from Australian musical theatre choreographer William A Forsythe, Xing Liang’s elegaic Life, Death and the Twilight(人.鬼.戲 - Chinese Dance), and Taiwanese choreographer Cheng Tsun-lung’s powerful Memory (記憶 - Contemporary Dance). |
