Synopsis |
A free education programme aimed at educating primary and secondary school students how the ballet history has evolved whilst widening their artistic horizon. The Company collaborated with The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) to offer HKAPA students an opportunity to participate in a professional ballet production. Five students from School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts were engaged to design the set and costume for production. Few dance pieces in the production was choreographed by the Company’s choreographic apprentices Eve Chan and Carlo Pacis. This programme offered a fascinating portrait of how the art form has developed from court entertainment to romantic and classical ballet, and finally to the modern style of 20th Century ballet. The production also introduced the intriguing facts of the development of costumes, pointe shoes and ballet techniques from 17th Century to present day. |
