| Synopsis |
A balletic masterpiece of the 20th century, Romeo and Juliet is Rudi van Dantzig’s powerful interpretation of the immortal tragedy by William Shakespeare. With its sumptuous sets and costumes, thrilling fight scenes and tragic denouement, this production of Romeo and Juliet embodied everything ballet should be.
Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra joined forces with The Hong Kong Ballet to accompany the production under the baton of Richard Bernas, the Guest Conductor of The Royal Ballet at Convent Garden. André Lewis, Artistic Director of Royal Winnipeg Ballet, also came to Hong Kong to help stage the ballet. Set and Costume Designer Toer van Schayk was also in town for the creation of the production. |
