Synopsis |
The theme of the epic dance Qingming Riverside is to make the tableau on the handscroll come to life on stage, using the richness and wealth of Chinese dance culture as basic materials for the performance, with the aim of promoting traditional Chinese culture. And in the major episode of “Vaudeville”, there is a variety of traditional dances like ‘Fire Parade’, and dance steps from Chinese operas, such as, ‘Cracking the Horsewhip’ and ‘Round Table’. These steps describe the bustling scene of the travelling troupes and acrobats in the city. Other dance pieces included are ‘Rowing on Dry Land’ and ‘Fishing Lights’. These various traditional folk dances are all infused with a sense of modernity, which charges them with a lot of energy and dynamic. That will lead the beholders of this magnificent epic dance into an enchanting realm of antiquity. Following the steps and rhythm of the dancers, the audience will enter into a magical and dazzling world of wealth and prosperity. |
