Synopsis |
Xing Liang—one of the mainland’s most creative dancer-choreographers—approaches his performance-art project with a strong conviction of the purity of dance and its dignity as art. The result is Out Of The Box, personal, detached, uncaring of any isms, yet compelling and engaging with the strongest cogency.
Inspired by Kandinsky’s abstract paintings, Out of the Box presents an all-round picture of Xing’s talents as a dancer-choreographer and takes the audience into a world that is uniquely Xing’s, the quest for the unorthodox, the depth of his understanding of the nonverbal world of body language, and ultimately, Xing’s challenge to audience expectations of dance. |
