Inspired by the alluringly embroidered nüshu missives, as well as the shimmering prose of two contemporary Hong Kong females writers, Xi Xi and Wong Bik-wan, choreographer Helen Lai told HerStory through the perceptive artistry of CCDC dancers. HerStory has swept two Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2008 and is proved to be Lai’s magnum opus on the subject of women. It was invited to perform at the Beijing International Dance Festival the year after its premiere in Hong Kong. |
