Synopsis |
BESSIE award winning site-specific choreographers Third Rail Projects gave 20 carefully selected young choreographers a 5-day intensive master class workshop, creating a 20-minute original dance performance using Bethanie, a stunningly beautiful heritage site in Pokfulam, as their stimulus, showcasing the talent of the emerging choreographers with TRP for an intimate audience. We invited youth dancers, dance practitioners and choreographers see the on-site performances and participate in a ‘meet-the-artists’ session to share their thoughts and encourage constructive conversations for developing future site-specific productions in future.
The selected choreographers of the project conducted a teacher workshop concentrating on exploring the techniques used in creating site-specific work and giving insightful suggestions on how to approach our environment in a different light. A documentary of the master class and performances was filmed to document the collaborative effort and was also used as a study guide for creating site-specific dance at this teacher workshop, so that they were able to share what they have learned and pass this onto their students. |
