Synopsis |
Thrilled to be entering our 6th year, The Series is growing with our choreographic stars and trying out new formats. This edition features familiar elements while striding into uncharted territories. With an international collaboration, cross-discipline commissions and a mixed bill showcasing emerging talents, it brings together trained dancers with non-dancers to explore the art of creativity and movement.
Will you still love me tomorrow? Hong Kong Remix
A high energy dance off
The first international collaboration for the HKJC Contemporary Dance Series, this special commission is built on the Artist-in-Residence project of Italian choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni with Hong Kong choreographer Mao Wei, who took part in the HKAF in 2016.
Continuing their partnership and building on Sciarroni’s acclaimed FOLK-S, they further explore the counterpoint in Eastern and Western dance and folk traditions. This full-length new work features professional dancers from Hong Kong and will also include selected local students. It is developed over a series of workshops and rehearsals in Hong Kong. |
