What if we the young and the restless suddenly come to face to face with Mr. Confucius of the past? How shall we converse with him? admiringly? or disparagingly?
The Encounter of Confuciusis specially created for Shanxi Danceland by XU Yiming, the dancer/choreographer from BeijingDance/LDTX. The work has no intention to retell the story or re-interpret the teaching of Confucius on stage, but responds acutely and directly through pure physical movement to some of the words annunciated by Confucius himself (in the book of Confucius Analects) |
