Award-winning original musical back by popular demand, up another league
Football players of Hong Kong reaching beyond Asia
An exhilarating tale of passion and dreams
When it comes to football, there should be no divide among us. Once upon a time, Lee Wai Tong, the King of Football in Hong Kong, led the Republic of China football team for the first time to compete in the Olympics in Berlin. The year was 1936. Eight football players from Lo Wai, a small fishing village in Tai Hang, Hong Kong, made history with their skills in football, taking their dreams and passion beyond Hong Kong, into the international arena. At a time when resources were hard to come by, it was faith and determination that took them the furthest in pursuing their dreams.
Premiered in 2008, Field of Dreams received four Hong Kong Drama Awards that year, including Best Overall Performance, Best Original Music, Best Actor (Tragedy / Drama) and Top Ten Most Popular Productions. With Leon Ko as composer and Chris Shum as lyricist, the duo behind the Hong Kong film Perhaps Love, Field of Dreams will be revived for the second time. Joining hands with the Hong Kong Dance Company with live accompaniment, the 2017 production promises to take the acclaimed musical to a whole new level of visual and musical enjoyment. |
