Synopsis |
As one of Hong Kong’s most creative dance ensembles, CCDC has brought refreshing new voices to audiences through Dancers’ Homework, a showcase for CCDC dancers’ choreographic talents. 2016 Dancers’ Homework features a mixed bill of seven emerging choreographers from CCDC. Through their works, they react and revitalise the unique rhythm in this city.
Lee Ka-ki
Nothing is known when we meet someone, somewhere or something new. They become familiar as time goes by. Time flies, things change. Are we searching for a moment of peace through the reconstruction of things that we know?
Lee Ka-ki, choreographer of P BOARD Q and Space within continues the imagination of space, finding harmony in the disharmony among urban dwellers.
Kelvin Mak
Praised by SCMP as a “standout” dancer, Kelvin Mak’s first choreography returns to the origin, looking for the meaning of existence. Everyone wants to find a place to settle down, but one can only find one’s true path along the journey of rediscovery.
Malvina Tam
“Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness,” Alejandro Jodorowsky said. People who live in a metropolis see living at peace as unstable. Having lived abroad for two years, Malvina Tam presents a solo performance that revisits our circumstances, exploring how people survive and adapt in the information boom.
Terry Tsang
The game starts at the first sight. Flirting with desire, you are living in fish tank. Between play and reality, who dominates? Terry Tsang stirs deep inside, causing reverberations within in another breakthrough piece after Patience, Exotic and Sound · Gravity. |
