| Synopsis |
With its sumptuous set and costumes, thrilling fight scenes and the tragic finale, Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Rudi van Dantzig embodies everything a ballet should be. Set to Prokofiev's sublime orchestra score, the music conjures the oppressive mood and violence of the feuding families, to the poetic nightscape of the balcony love scene. The Hong Kong Sinfonietta, under the baton of Gerry Cornelius, provided live accompaniment to the production. |
