| Synopsis |
Giselle belongs to a ballet heritage that continues to inspire and illuminate audiences today. A heart-rending tale of love, betrayal and the supernatural and a supreme example of ballet, Giselle served as the ideal vehicle to represent classical tradition while highlighting the Company's global perspective and aspirations. The Hong Kong Ballet performed Giselle, the most romantic of all ballets, at the Poly Theatre in Beijing in 2009. Through an invitation from the Ministry of Culture, The Hong Kong Ballet was honoured to present the Company's dancers to Beijing audiences in the landmark 60th celebration of the founding of the People's Republic of China. |
