Synopsis |
The Hong Kong Dance Company was invited to participate in the Ninth China Arts Festival with a performance of Qingming Riverside at the Guangzhou Baiyun Convention Centre.
Featuring a hundred dancers and creative personnel, the opulent spectacle Qingming Riverside explores traditional Chinese culture through tapping into the rich dance culture of China as the basis of performance. It depicts the lives of Bianjing citizens during the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960-1126) in broad painterly impressions, inviting the audience to travel through time to the dynamic city on the River Bian. This living painting salutes the long and profound history of Chinese culture through contemporary expressions. |
