The grand dance drama Eagle Companion was based on Jin Yong's same-titled classic martial arts novel, which was first published half a century ago. Leung Kwok-shing ingeniously translated the literary text into an abstract and beautiful stage performance, depicting the conflicting nature of love and emotional struggles of love and hatred with dance vocabularies. The work employed a contemporary artistic style and at the same time embodied the essence of Chinese traditional culture. |
