Synopsis |
Combining ‘bellhops’ and the dance style lindy hopping, YAF Director Lindsey McAlister and a group of young dancer-choreographers collaboratively create a fun-filled, high energy, action-packed dance theatre piece to capture the spirit and luxury of The Peninsula experience!
A ‘bellhop’, also a ‘bellboy’, is a hotel porter, who helps patrons with their luggage while checking in or out – a very important role that many of us often overlook! In the olden days, an employee would have to ‘hop’ to attention when summoned by the front desk by a bell – and this is where the term ‘bellhop’ comes from. Today, The Peninsula’s Hotel’s bellboys have become iconic in their crisp white uniforms and welcoming smiles.
This performance is dedicated to the staff of The Peninsula Hotel, as recognition of their hard work over these 85 years. |
