Synopsis |
Director, choreographer and dancer Kayuen is a passionate advocate for arts education who completed the Teaching Diploma for Creative Body Movement (Kids) at Taiwan’s prestigious Cloud Gate Dance School. He teaches regularly at universities and community centres, and also produces site-specific works.
Workshop 1: Object Theatre (for drama and dance teachers)
Imagine… with just a simple piece of chalk or a chair you can play creative games with your students and even create an original piece of theatre. In this workshop, teachers will learn how to use objects to ignite the imagination and inspire performances. The evening will culminate in the creation of a short piece of object theatre work.
Workshop 2: From Children’s Pictures Books to Creative Body Movement (for parents and drama and dance teachers who work with 4–6 year olds)
Children’s picture books often depict rich, imaginative, poetic worlds that can be fantastic resources for the creation of dance. In this workshop, participants will discover how to use picture books as the stimulus for fun and inspiring games that encourage creative physical movement and rhythm. |
