Synopsis |
“It is story about the passion of the classical form when it struggles with the free spirit of creation… the result will always something daring and new.” ~ Allen Lam
“Opening Doors With A Set Of Keys” causes the real intake of breath when Allen Lam blends contemporary dance together with ballet, Latin dance, Flamenco, Chinese dance with respects to each tradition. The work sets to Nuevo tango music by Piazzolla (1921-1992), and gets inspiration from lyric “Rendevous at Lantern Festival night” by Xin Qi-ji (1140-1107), a poet of the Song Dynasty. There are many surprises and splendors in the performances that open up your instincts associated with dramatic expressions in dance.
