Synopsis |
Since 2008, the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras (AIP) has been a large-scale, annual Community Arts Event in Hong Kong – attracting an amazing 70,000 visitors in 2011. AIP is also a fantastic opportunity for everyone to enjoy a variety of lively, innovative art activities, including a themed street parade, sun dances, vibrant art stalls and a medley of dance performances. The theme of this year is “Circus: A Feast for the Senses”. Just like a day at the circus, this year’s Mardi Gras stimulates all of your senses and emotions. The five senses are also the inspiration for the 3,500 young people creating eye-catching and vibrant parade costumes, giant puppets, flags and choreographed dance routines for the 2012 parade. “Art Fun in Causeway Bay” was the vibrant parade seeing 600 young people take to the streets of Causeway Bay decked out in dramatic costumes and performing with self-made giant puppets and rod puppets in a celebration of the creativity of Hong Kong’s youth. |
