Synopsis |
YAF Founder and Artistic Director Lindsey McAlister leads a 2 hour workshop giving teachers all the skills they need to choreograph a piece of dance for non-dancers: creating floor patterns, developing simple sequences, structuring a workshop, choosing the right music & exploring movement to create choreography. Dancing is a way of expressing a child's most artistic and creative needs and desires in a developmentally healthy way. It helps us to perceive and communicate who we are, fosters self confidence, increases self-esteem, and develops social skills. Dance engages the whole person by simultaneously moving, thinking, and feeling, thus enhancing your child's physical, mental and emotional development. Choreography is simple when you know how! |
