“Dance is the hidden language of the soul” Martha Graham
Everyone who can move can dance & create choreography! Lindsey McAlister, Founder/Artistic Director of the HK Youth Arts Foundation, introduced a theme and enabled the participants to explore their own movement potential to create sequences of choreography using their own innate movement vocabulary.
The workshop utilized a variety of methods to create dance; music, images, feelings, etc. They learned how to create dance solos, work collaboratively with other dance artists; gained the skills to teach your ideas to others and how to structure a piece of dance. Participants were encouraged to think creatively, lose inhibitions to move & gain confidence in their ideas and visions when creating art. |
