Originally created in 1870 for the Paris Opera by Arthur Saint-Léon, Coppélia has long been popular with all the family, and the charming story and expressive style make it the ideal "introduction" to classical ballet. Ronald Hynd’s delightful choreography shows the dancers’ comic and character acting skills, while Léo Delibes’ original blend of classical and folk music styles and famous Italian designer Roberta Guidi di Bagno’s gorgeous set and costumes bring out the charm of this endearing tale.
