Profile
Hong Kong Salsa Dance Association (HKSDA) was established in Hong Kong in 2000. It was founded by Mr. Jacky Mo as a Hong Kong non-profit organization. It affiliated with Association of Hong Kong Dance Organizations.
The objective of HKSDA is to diffuse and promote the Latin Salsa Dances (including Couples Latin Salsa Dance, Solo Latin Salsa Dance, Salsa Wedding Dance, Ceroc/ LeRoc/ Modern-Jive Dance etc.) in Hong Kong, unite local dancers and consolidate liaison between dance groups, education organisations and government bodies to organise dance performances, workshops and activities. The mission of HKSDA is to provide regular and professional training and nourishing dance talents. Through the process of learning, students learn to appreciate one and others and eventually to enjoy the funs brought along by dancing.
The 1st HKSDA Latin Salsa Dance Teacher’s Certificate Presentation Ceremony has been held in 2000. HKSDA took the lead in organising the Latin Salsa Dance Teachers' Courses since 2000. HKSDA assisted to HKWDC and FAHK jointly set up the “Latin Salsa Dance Teachers' Courses” in 2004. In 2008 & 2009, HKSDA and HKWDC jointly set up the “The 2nd & 3rd Latin Salsa Dance Teachers' Courses” respectively. Another important activity of HKSDA is the organisation and development of a series of medal examinations. Since its inception, HKSDA has organised the Latin Salsa Dance Teachers' Course. As of today, HKSDA has about 120 professional members.
