Biography
Chiu Ming-chu, of the Bai ethnicity, has received dance training since childhood. She graduated from the department of Dance at the Yunnan School of Fine Arts and was formerly a principal performer in the Yunnan Song and Dance Troupe, having starred in The Red Detachment of Women, Ode to the Yimeng Mountains and Princess Peacock etc. After resettling in HK, she engaged herself in dance education and choreography. She has been invited to choreograph for the HK Dance Company and the Television Broadcasts Limited, and to plan and teach for educational institutes and associations such as the Professional Teachers’ Union, the HK Federation of Trade Unions and The Chinese University of HK. She has cooperated with Ho Ho-chuen in creating various teaching materials about dancing for children, teenagers, middle aged and disables. Chiu is currently Artistic Advisor of Ho Ho Chuen Dance Organizations, Dancing Group of the Worker’s Club and several dance groups. In 2008, she created the performance of original dance works with Ho Ho-chuen and as a Assistant to Artistic Director.
