Introduction
In order to grow their practice, independent dance artists are increasingly seeking to take their work abroad. Their activities overseas take a variety of forms, for example, choreographers present their work at international festivals and participate in university residency programs while dancers apply for scholarships and compete for theater residency programs. In December and January the author talked to the artists listed below about their experiences in the international arena and on international stages.
