  • Introduction
The “Venue Partnership Scheme” is an arts development initiative implemented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) at most of its performing arts venues upon the recommendation of the Committee on Performing Arts as published in its Recommendation Report (I) in 2006.
This 3-year Scheme spans from April 2009 to March 2012. It aims to foster a partnership between the venues and performing arts groups/organizations with the objectives of building up the artistic image and character of the venue and its partner(s), enlarging their audience base, optimizing usage of facilities, developing venue-based marketing strategies, facilitating the solicitation of corporate/private sponsorship, encouraging community involvement in the development of the arts and contributing to the healthy development of the performing arts scene.
Through the Hong Kong Dance Forum, presented by Hong Kong Dance Sector Joint Conference, dance schools, organizations and presenters have an opportunity to share their views on the effectiveness of the scheme and exchange thoughts on how to promote dance under stringent resources. The content of the forum has been transcribed and published in the Hong Kong Dance Yearbook 2009-2010.
