節目簡介 Each of the five works that comprised the narrative traces season embodied the central theme: that no matter how abstract a work, it inevitably resonates with traces of any number of interconnecting narratives. International choreographer/ performer/director Rob Tannion found the inspiration for Sinking Water in a true life narrative – the tragic drowning of 21 Chinese cockle-pickers on the treacherous sands of Morecombe Bay in the UK. From Shanghai, young dancer/ choreographer Dong Jie created the cross-stream work Floating Void/Empty Travel(空流), while Beijing-based artist Wang Yuan-yuan presented a challenge
to the Ballet students with her tai-chi inspired Crossing (跨界). British choreographer Christopher Hampson’s Paganini Variations (巴格尼尼變奏曲) spoke not only of the Polish composer’s well-known work, but also of bodies in time and space. The award winning And the Thunder Sings (<雨喻> – 節選自《風水行》choreographed by Chen Lei and Xie Yin, dancers from the Hong Kong Dance Company, echoed traces of traditional Chinese folk rituals and brought them into a contemporary present.
