節目簡介 |
The Young Ballet Stars Award competition not only provides a valuable platform for our student members to gain stage experience in front of international judges, it also provides an opportunity for them to build up their confidence and improve their technique in ballet. Given that vision, considerable attention is given to selecting dance pieces that both exhibit and challenge the skill and artistry of the contestants. The dances from the great classical ballet, The Sleeping Beauty, is selected for this year.
The Sleeping Beauty, is widely regarded as one of the true ballet masterpieces, and its demanding choreography makes it challenging for even the most talented professional ballerina and ballet dancer. Adapting the steps for our young dancers was no easy task, as we wanted to preserve Marius Petipa’s original choreographic style while making the dances more accessible to younger dancers. In addition to exposing the youngsters to this great ballet, we have also introduced them to some new steps and given them a special opportunity to develop their confidence as performers. |
