Alonzo King and Grammy Award winning vocalist Lisa Fischer’s stunning collaboration The Propelled Heart pays tribute to the power of song through dance. Alonzo King explores the kinetics of the human voice in choreography that combines the power of Lisa Fischer's voice with the communicative potential of the body as an instrument through the expressive LINES dancers.
The piece is a voyage, with the dancers impelled by the voice of Lisa Fischer. She acts as a standing sentinel at the inchoate pre-verbal beginning. Under her gaze the dancers radiate their light and churn noise into harmony, hearts ablaze. |
